Mutate Records

Tubbyphunk have been extra busy branding new electronic audio label Mutate Records.

Tubbyphunk's sister label Mutate Records started as an idea in july 2008, since then it's growing into an healthy Electronic music label distributed digitally to all four corners of the globe.

The word Pioneer envokes many an image. Read through most DJ/Producer/Label biogs & you're pretty sure guaranteed to come across the the word, at least once. Mutate Records is not a pioneering Label, wasn't at the forefront of a genre creating wave of music, hasn't even 'broke' an artist to the musical world ... not yet at least! What Mutate Records is, is a label created by artists, artists with over 25 years experience of making and breaking dance music, a label FOR artists by artists, a label for producers & artists tired of submitting their music, their art and their souls to mindless 'record label' collectives who don't understand just what it is that they are working and care even less when they fail to deliver the promotion, the interest and the dj plays that a piece of music deserves. With over 25 years experience in the record production market, Mutate Records offers an artist friendly alternative for recording artists, functioning without the need for protracted contracts which means that the writers can release their music & ultimately retain their copyright & ownership rights - that's only right, right?!! For artists wishing to place product through Mutate, we can also offer a full music publishing service through our publishing arm Funk Labs Music which has been collecting our artist royalties, across the world, for the last ten years.

One of the strategy to establish Mutate within a crowded marketplace was to be it's strong visual brand. Each release although different in content, features strong Mutute related icons and typestyle, which are leading to an already developing brand while still in the early stages of a businesses start-up, and it's receiving some promising feedback along the way.
